US BASED FAIL DNA TEST OF TWINS AT EMBASSEY

LAGOS — Controversy currently trails the parenthood of  five-month-old twins who were presented at the United States of America’s embassy by their supposed parents for the procurement of visa.
This follows result of a DNA test ordered by the embassy which reports showed that the couple were not the biological parents of the twins as claimed.
Consequently, the couple have been arrested and are being interrogated at the Special Fraud Unit, SFU Milverton, for alleged child-trafficking.

Although investigation, according to the unit, had not been concluded, there were indication that the children could have been bought for N1.8 million somewhere in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Following the discovery, the passport of the supposed father, Mr Adenuga Shoyibo, a Nigerian based in America has been seized pending the outcome of the investigation.
But Soyibo, who claimed to be a USA citizen, maintained that the children were theirs, disclosing  that the twins came at a traditional home in Port Harcourt, 15  years after they got married.
He further revealed  that he paid N1.8 million to the trado-medical practitioner for the herbs administered to his wife which eventually led to her conception.
But in the course of investigation, Commissioner of Police in charge of the unit, Mr Tunde Ogunsaki, was said to have detailed some policemen to accompany Elizabeth to the trado medical home where she claimed the babies were delivered, with a view to ascertaining her claim.
The CP said: “During investigation, detectives travelled to Port-Harcourt, Rivers State where the woman claimed she gave birth to the twins in a private small house.  But on reaching  Port-Harcourt, the woman claimed she could no longer locate the place, she also stated that she had no antenatal record anywhere as she did not attend any.
“Adenuga Soyibo, who claimed to be the father of the twins, on his own part, said he was also given local herbs that boosted his sperm count that produced the babies.
Both suspects claimed they could no longer trace the woman whom they paid the N1.8 million for the local herbs for the babies delivery. They also could not produce anyone who knew about the conception and the subsequent delivery of the babies.”
Mr Soyibo, however, said he met the woman, one Mrs Okoro, last year, adding that when the delivery date was near, he arrived the country November 19, 2012 and four days  later his wife travelled to Port Harcourt where she was deliv
ered same day and returned to their Ikorodu abode the following day.
He further stated that he did not go to Port Harcourt with his wife, saying he was too tired because of the journey.
Currently, Soyibo’s travelling documents have been seized pending the outcome of investigation. But the couple were released on bail, yesterday, and advised to be visiting for further interrogation.

NET set to immortalise The Founder of Yoruba Rappers Dagrin C.E.O.

As part of plans to immortalise  the name of late  Olaitan Olaonipekun popularly known as Da Grin, NET Newspapers Limited, publishers of Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET), has  announced the setting up of a memorial lecture in honor of the departed rapper.
A statement by NET’s Publisher, Ayeni Adekunle disclosed that  part of the reasons for the memorial Lecture is basically to immortalise the name of the artiste.
Da Grin, according to the statement, died in a very tragic circumstances. “A young man who was full of life; who was very hardworking and very promising had his life cut short in such horrible manner. Could his death, just like that of CD John, Chidinma Mbalaso and many others have been prevented?’ Ayeni pondered.

*Dagrin
The Memorial Lecture, scheduled to hold at Protea Hotels, in Ikeja GRA, at a yet-to-be-announced date, will feature speakers from all relevant industries: security and safety; media, health and medicine, governance, entertainment, communication, management and others.
‘We’re working on getting relevant people from the FRSC, Police Force, Nigerian Medical Association, and other bodies; including representatives from the musician’s union as well as the labels, to come educate us all on what we need to know on pertinent health, safety, living, investment and other issues, using the tragic end of Dagrin as a  case study.
An artiste with an enviable talent, Da Grin was reputed for rapping in his native Yoruba language and scantly in English Language. If  he had survived the auto-crash which eventually claimed his life on the 22nd  of April, 2010, Da Grin would have become one of the mega stars we have around today.
He connected with his fans on such a real level. His demise, which marked the end of an era for a shining star, left a vacuum that is yet to be filled by anyone. Before his death, Da’grin thrilled his fans with his club hit singles of his debut album, Dagrin C.E.O.
The album featured hit tracks such as, Kon doh, Jor oh, Moti gboro, Pon pon pon amongst others.Today, three years after his demise, fans are still paying tribute to  Da Grin. Recently his fans  gathered to remember this young dynamic artiste who took Yoruba rap to the next level. A whole crop of young and established artistes have towed his line yet, Dagrin’s sensational single Pon Pon Pon continues to remain ever green.
For the short time he had reigned, where even legends strive to; he created a style.

May D and P Square now Reconcile

May D and P-Square reconcile?
P Square and May D in good times

Late August last year, pop singer Akinmayokun May D Awodumila got the shock of his life when he learnt he had been dropped from Square records (P-Square record label) due to irreconcilable differences.

He screamed blue murder, threatened litigation and countered by launching his own outfit Confam Entertainment; releasing singles and videos. Today, however, these two camps may have reconciled.

Come May 10, May D’s highly anticipated album will drop and it features P-Square in a powerful collaboration called 'You want to know me'.

The 20 tracked album titled 'Chapter one' also features TuFace in 'No Body', K-Switch and Olamide in 'Kigbe' and then Davido in 'Ur Eyes'.

May D will be launching his album on May 26 at a live concert in Abuja with Davido, 2Face Idibia, Iyanya, Olamide, Jaywon, Reminisce, K-Switch and many others in performance.

On August 21, Square Records boss Jude Okoye had sent out a statement which reads…

"I, JUDE ‘ENGEES’ OKOYE of Square Records Limited and Northside Entertainment Limited hereby announces to the general public that Mr. Akinmayokun Awodumila, otherwise known as MAY D is no longer an artiste under the aforementioned outfits due to irreconcilable differences. We at Northside and Square records wish him all the best in his career and life.

The full details of their reconciliation are not immediately clear, what we do know however, is that May D does not intend going back to Square records.
